Books : The Pearls of Lutra (Redwall)
Pearls of Lutra, by Brian Jacques, is part of the Redwall series and i believe deserves 3 stars. This book has many songs and poems, most of which are just filling up space, but the main character is very intriguing. I would recommend this book to kids under the age of 15 because all the characters are animals and the songs and poems are good for the little kids to enjoy. I enjoyed most of this book and i hope you do too.

My son has read and reread the books in this series, essentially absorbing a short course in natural history in the process. The author has a deft touch--she strikes a great balance between challenging a grade school reader (my son is in 4th grade), both in terms of concepts and vocabulary, while engaging the reader so thoroughly that the challenge is a joy. He's just as glued to the page now, on his third time through the series, as he was on his first. Enjoy this wonderful series!

I started reading this series to my 4 year old son and recommend it to anyone who wants to broaden their kids adventure geography. The research guides accompanying many of them are very informative and concise...rather they are a must have.

This one has a better storyline compared to the rest and covers various l aspects of the Ice Age Apart ..starting with the habitat of the CroMagnon man and how that they made their clothes from reindeer skin and lamps for visibility by hollowing out stones, how they had to ... Read More:

Loamhedge was a pretty good book, with more action and more evil than Triss. Bragoon and Saro's team of partly-retired mischief makers were intresting, as was Martha the haremaid's probem with her legs. Raga Bol was definitly a good villan, with his good-sized horde of rats. Overall, Loamhedge waa a good book.

This classic story is nothing like the movie most of us are familar with. I know people who are afraid of the cyclone and the Wicked Witch, but the book might be scarier than both of them put together.

Dorothy lands in Oz--killing the Witch of the East. She is advised to see the Wizard of Oz to help her return to Kasas. On the way, she meets three very different friends. The Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, and cowardly Lion all join Dorothy in hope of receiving something from the Wizard.

This story is not for children. ... Read More:

My sons (8 years old and almost 10) have both really enjoyed this whole series. We all like reading together at night still, even though they are now obviously reading fine on their own. We have had a hard time finding books after devouring all of Harry Potter this past year, and these have become our next favorites. The characters are well developed and engaging, and the kids--and sometimes me, too--laugh out loud at the taunts of Twilight. I also like that the themes underneath this have led us to discussions on history, racism, and ... Read More:

190.Lord Brocktree by: Brian Jacques
2000
Average Rating: out of 5 stars
>>More Details
Books : Lord Brocktree
This is actually book 1 if you read them chronologically, and it is a departure in some ways from Redwall and Mossflower (the two books I think are best-known of the series). The villainous foe is shrewder, more evil, and sane (mostly). If I remember correctly, the battles are a bit more violent than Redwall and Mossflower. I also think this book had more depth than Redwall and Mossflower. I've become enthralled with the world that Jacques has created, and Lord Brocktree satisfies immensely.
