Mix together equal parts "Star Wars" and J.R.R. Tolkien, then add a generous helping of Anne McCaffrey's dragon-riders and a few random shreds of Garth Nix. Obviously originality is not Christopher Paolini's strong suit, since the omnibus of "Eragon" and "Eldest" is brimming over with fantasy cliches. | At one time, this was my favorite redwall book. It was also the first redwall book I read all of. In this book, the fearless badger lord Urthstripe the Strong leads his army of long patrol hares in a battle against the cruel Ferahgo the Assasin. Read this book, it's great! |

| Having completely worn out three sets of the Narnia books, I saw this one and thought "Hmmmm...Hardbound, all together...what could be bad?"
It's missing many of the wonderful Pauline Baynes illustrations that are inextricably part of my own Narnia experience, and it's too big to be purse-stickable. Other than those factors, the prose is the same, and it's a good Narnia collection to keep on the shelf. |

| Anyone says that the movies are preferrable to this needs to learn how to read (that said, I'm a huge of the movies--they are cinematic masterpieces).
But this is classic fantasy at its best. Every other fantasy author to come along, as great as they are, still have not managed to create the depth of what Tolkien created. | Puedo decir que el libro me tuvo en suspenso todo el tiempo de principio a fin. Demas esta decir que lo lei en 3 dias. Me gusto mucho la parte en donde el profesor Snape brinda informacion sobre su niñez y el por que de tratar de esa manera a Potter al igual que puedo entender mejor otras partes de los libros anteriores. | My four year old son is in love with this chapter series! A friend suggested it to us since he seemed ready for a more advanced reading material at bedtime. My husband reads him a chapter every night...sometimes more because they don't want to stop. It's become a great tradition for them, and something they both look forward to. We love that there are so many in the collection! Start with number 1 and just continue. :) |
