| Review: These books are my comfort books. In fact, all of the Tamora Pierce books from the Tortall series' are in that category. This is the first of Pierce's quartets ever published, starting with Alanna: The First Adventure. They all have a very strong female protagonist, who takes her destiny head-on and finds a way to train as a knight, even though such a thing is only for boys and men. | Wow, this book is AMAZING!! Of all the Land of Elyon books, this is the best! Patrick Carman never fails to surprise readers as they dig through his books. I don't want to tell you much about this book (you need to read it yourself!), but it is truly amazing. Alexa finds her calling on the world at the end. That is all I will say. I highly recommend this book to all who love adventure books! |

| My 8 year old daughter is a huge Wiz of Oz fan. She has 10 pairs of ruby slippers she's grown out of through the years, every WoO Nutcracker, Barbie, doll we can find and every edition book we come across. This is one of her favorite Wizard of Oz books. She loves the detail about the characters, the pictures, the rich history reviews. Its a great book and Amazon is by far the cheapest place to buy it safely and new. |

| My 9 yr old son loves the Magic Tree House series. I've purchased every book and have also pre-ordered books that will be released in Sept. When he's finished with each story, he gives my husband and I an oral book report. He has also learned various interesting historical facts concerning the book's theme. According to my son, there are clues throughout the stories and always a moral/lesson at the end of each story.
