| With every Harry Potter installment, I find myself saying the new installment is my favorite of the series so far. Book 6 is no exception, and I think it is a credit to the author. The hopelessness and despair have increased in order for the readers to feel the plight of the characters. Starting with this book and continuing into the next, the reader feels the despair that afflicts the good wizard community. It has some similarities to World War II Germany. | The first three books in The House of Night series were good but not great. "Untamed" changes all of that. In one book, this series has gone from okay to awesome. I read "Untamed" in two days because I couldn't bare to put it down. Everything changes.

| This book is geared towards young adults, but I was so intrigued with the plot that I decided to read it myself (I'm 30). One of my favorite short stories is "The Most Dangerous Game" and I felt this book embraced a lot of its ideas. The story takes place in the future under a totalitarian regime that rules with fear. | See my review of "Blood Brothers", the first part of this trilogy. I am a fan of Nora Roberts and have enjoyed all the books I've read or listened to, especially her more recent works over the past 5-8 years. This is another good one.
That said, this is read by a different narrator than Blood Brothers. I found this woman so annoying I wanted to rip the CD out of the car, throw it out the window, and go get the written book. Thankfully I see the third book of the trilogy is read by someone else. |

| Inkheart melded the real world and a fantasy world in a way I never thought possible. As an English teacher, I loved how Funke praised the written word and then made it come alive. While I thought Inkheart dragged out the story a little bit, I was intrigued enough to read Inkspell, mostly because I wanted to see what happened to Mo, Meg, and Elinor.
Unfortunately, I couldn't read more than 10 or so pages of Inkspell at a time. The beginning is fabulous as the characters get pulled into the new world. ... Read More: |

| My 12 year old granddaughter loved this book (and the 1st book in this series). It arrived in 2 days with Amazon Prime! She couldn't wait for it to arrive.
