I'm not interested in farming & agriculture 2500 years ago, I'm interested in historical facts such as wars, kings, quuens, tyrants etc. I wish I could get my money back! |

| For a long time I owned all the Tintins depicted on the back cover of âaeThe Adventures of Tintinâ and thought I had it all, until I learned about the existence of 3 other titles: âaeTintin in the Congo,â âaeTintin Et Lâ(tm)Alph-Artâ (his very last unfinished work), and this one, which happens to be his very first Tintin Adventure. | This book was recommended by my child's fifth grade teacher. It was their November book of the month to read for the class. It was a stretch with the slang talk of the south but it was understandable. It was an eye opener to the children as to how things were in the 1930's. Very good book and I would recommend this book to any fifth grade class for group reading and discussion. |

| I recently stumbled across this book in Sydney, Australia. Having never seen any of M. Sasek's books I was drawn to it instantly. The illustrations are beautiful. The text simple and engaging. Husband was just about to leave for a trip to New York so I purchased a copy to read to our 2 1/2 year old while dad was away. She loves this book! | As a middle school literature teacher, I've ALWAYS been a fan of Curtis. Elijah is some of his best work,although reminiscent of Watsons in language usage~~~not a bad thing, it helped my students make connections. Curtis has a gift for taking serious subject matter and making it palitable and even humorous for adolescents. Once he grabs your attention with his character development, he takes you places you'd never go otherwise. Good job! |

| We have several Robert Sabuda pop up books- he does a marvelous job! This book is beautifully made with many pop ups that show you America's beauty along with the lyrics to the song. We gave this book to a friend's son and he kept reading it over and over and over! |

| THis is a classic! I read it as a kid and now love reading it to my kids. I always keep multiple copies on hand and give them as gifts to 4 and 5 year olds. But many other ages will love it too. |

| This book is enchanting. My daughter and I were in Awe as we read it. There is one particular part whent he children sing the doxology. The build up to this point made quite an impression on both of us. It is beautiful.
