| My nine year old son loves this book! It has some great projects to do (using easy-to-find materials) while also introducing famous scientists and scientific principles like the laws of motion. We were following the The Well-Trained Mind: A Guide to Classical Education at Home, Revised and Updated Edition and found this book to be much better than the books it recommended for Physics. |

| This book is written in a calendar format, encouraging readers to engage in nature activities appropriate for that time of year (in a seasonal climate). My children and I found ourselves occupied with listening for spring peepers in March, sowing sunflower seeds in June, making leaf tracings in October and pinecone birdfeeders in January. Far from the usual stuff however, this book is also packed with great nature facts, activities and games that I've never seen anywhere else.

| We have quite a few experiment books - and many of them essentially have the same old tried and true (and good) experiments. This book stands above the others in that it also does a great job of explaining the "why" behind the science. The kids can just do experiments, or they can also read up on why they work, or they can use the book to dig deeper into the science behind the fun. It really is a great book and my 1st and 3rd graders love it - but so do I! |

"Amazing Rubber Band Cars" is a really amazing book. It tells all about how to make cars from rubber bands, cardboard and other simple supplies. I am building one of these cars right now and the instructions are very easy-to-follow. Each car in the book is a little harder than the one before it.
