| These recipes all have three ingredients or less (not including water, salt, and pepper). They are not just things like grilled cheese either. My girls are 9 and 7. We tried it from the library first. It may be good for all the bachelors out there!

| This book works very well for teaching human, natural and capital resources to third graders. We read the book aloud, and then went back and categorized all the resources used to make a tortilla. |

| I bought this book for my daughter who already has cooking experience. I liked the idea that it talked about various health issues and then provided an activity and recipes relating to the topic. I had high hopes for this book but it fell a little flat. Often, there is not a clear connection made between the topic and the recipes. Also, we have had terrible luck with the recipes. | This was a wonderful book that we purchsed because we had to return a copy to the library and my son couldn't live without it! Lots of fun foods in here and most are really easy to make and creative. I'd skip the cover recipe (a potato slice and two green beans) but the rest were lots of fun for us. Loved the Chocolate Mice and the Mutant Chicken. |

| I purchased this book for my six year old granddaughter but I made certain to read it before sending it on for her birthday.
It is quite a charming book for children (and grownups) who love tea parties. The children not only attend a tea party with their grandparents but they are taught all about how they are expected to act and how to eat properly during the tea party. | I gave this to my first grader for the holidays, and he has been glued to it for the past several months. He loves learning about all of the cultures and talking with his foodie parents about cooking. A picky eater who is trying to change his ways, he now wants to try several of the recipes after we successfully made the mac and cheese (which was delicious). |

| Overall I really liked this book. Jane Yolen's versions of 20 fairy tales (many having to do with food) were fun and nicely retold. Some are pretty familiar to us all and other are more obscure. I also liked the offbeat illustrations by Phillippe Beha.
I'm not sure who did the research but what I enjoyed most were the history of the tales and the facts about food in the columns next to the recipes. Did you know that grapes are considered berries and that pumpkins are 90% water? Who knew? Those types of things in the book ... Read More: |

| The sandwiches in this book are delicious and inventive. Each step is described fully, but not in a condescending manner. The layout is bright and exciting. I also love the way Dunnington lays out and describes needed supplies at the book's end. I think any child would enjoy working their way through the book and be inspired for further cooking! |
