| I didn't find this book to be formatted in a useful way. There was no logic to the layout, and as a newbie to the game, I found it difficult to find the information I needed. I gave it two stars because I was at least able to use some of the maps. |

| My first grader, a very visual learner, loves this book. He asks for history first thing every morning because we use this book as our primary resource to study prehistory. To be precise, pages 12-101 offer a highly visual overview from the birth of the Earth to the first farmers.
We read a double page spread every day or two, then I'd type out his brief oral narration. As a treat, we'd visit the Quicklinks every Friday to further delve into what we'd read the whole week. Like another ... Read More: |

| I bought this book for my nephew(8 yrs). It has a lot of useful information for a student his age, along with DIY experiments and links to more info on the internet. I definitely recommend this book. |

| I believe this is a good book for people new to the Blitzmax language; however there is still a few things that is not covered in this book leaving, the reader to find there own answers from other sources like the web. One being the ability to create a game that has more movement controls, for game types that are not limited to the old space invader styles. I believe a little more effort should have been put into the online networking side of things, for using the UDP protocol for online multiplayer games. ... Read More: |

| The difference this book is that it teaches the engine of a good variety of simple games that can be made by amateur programmers.
The only negative point that I thought it was the fact that the examples contained in the CD are in XNA version 1.0, and that to be returned to that version, is a bit outdated. But in terms of learning, this has an excellent didactic. |

| I purchased this book because my 6 year old son was fascinated with Egypt. However, I would not recommend this book for a child of this age. The mummies are real in this book and there are a lot of them. It was even hard for me to stomach. As always, DK has illustrated a beautiful and detailed book-it was just the subject that was a little hard. |

| i used this book along wiht the 5 steps one, and thank god i did. maria litvin's prep book is not at all a good book to use if you havent picked up much during the school year and need help quick for the ap test. the best thing about this book is the practice tests. they're actually harder than the real one in may, but it makes sure taht you are thoroughly prepared. i know a lot of people use that same justification for the barron's practice tests, but i found that the barron's ap comp sci practice tests were too hard to an unlikely extreme. ...
