| Once I opened the book and read the first page, I was confused and my mind was in a tangled web for I could not understand some of the writing and diction Ralph Ellison chose to use. This was a tough book for me to read because of that, but overall, the story was just okay.

| There are some books everyone talks about but nobody reads. And then, there are books everyone reads but nobody understands. "Siddhartha" by Hermann Hesse seems to be one of those. I didn't expect much from this book after reading about it on the web. I expected it to be a really bad hippie book about some libertine who callously abandons his wife and kid, and then expects to "learn from the river", or whatever. | I think that Brian's Winter is an interesting story. The author is Gary Paulsen who has written many great books. Brian's Winter is the third book after Hatchet. The book "The River" comes after Hatchet. Brian's Winter tells about what would have happened if Brian didn't get rescued out of the Canadian forests when he did and how he had to go through a strong and cold Canadian winter without and supplies besides the stuff he rescued from the plane. | it was a great book, about a clash between "greasers" and "socs" and it follows what happens to the main character, Ponyboy. The book was impossible to put down and it even made me cry a little at times, but thats what a good book will do to you. I recommend this for teens because it has some violence and other things you may expect to find in a book about fights between gangs. This is a wonderful story of friendship and tragedy. |

| I have to admit I was a little disappointed when I received this book. Maybe I dont remember the story that well, but it didnt seem to be the original version and I wasnt impressed with the illustrations in the slightest. |

| This is largely a nonsense book, of course - most of what Seuss gives as examples are his classic made-up creatures. Bloogs blowing by, and a Rink-Rinker-Fink.
But what a nonsense book! It's a lot of fun to read and talk about after. It may not be the most famous Seuss book, but it's certainly one of the best. |

| I honestly believe in my heart that every American woman from about age 25-35 read this book around the same age I did. Either one of her friends told her about it, the school nurse gave it to her, or her mom bought it and said it would explain things.
This book is occassionally banned by school districts due to its discussion of female puberty and religion. I don't remember it being especially new when I was the age of the characters (Blume sets many of her novels in Princeton, I grew up in same, and we ALL read them).
