| Loamhedge was a pretty good book, with more action and more evil than Triss. Bragoon and Saro's team of partly-retired mischief makers were intresting, as was Martha the haremaid's probem with her legs. Raga Bol was definitly a good villan, with his good-sized horde of rats. Overall, Loamhedge waa a good book.

| I both read the book and listened to it. The book carries you through the four seasons during 1849 with a young Ojibwe and her family. This book is fascinating, the history and descriptions for chores is fantastic. There is hardship and work and joy and aggravation. It's a regular family. That's what it is so easily relatable to children.
I preferred to have the book read to me through the audio book, this audio book is read by Nicole Littrell. I think this is a great book to read ... Read More: |

| As a parent I was shocked when I read this book. It is a political book. It is in response to the No Child Left Behind Act. Read it and be appalled.
A fourth grade girl lies to her parents for 5 years about the fact that she is a genius. Her parents have no idea. She doesn't want people to know she is smart because she would be pushed academically and if she went into the accelerated classes she would miss her friends. | They don't seem to require reading classic literature in the schools any more, so I decided to build a library for my 12-year old granddaughter. She has read them all, including this one, so it wasn't a bad idea. Now, if I could just get her to call her old grandfather more often.... |

| I just thought I should explain that clearly (hint, hint) after reading a few of the negative reviews. NOT a whole lot of singin' and dancin' going on in the south during Reconstruction, historically speaking that is. And this book doesn't make you feel "sad"...just oppressed...wait for it...ah, ha!...a masterpiece for all races, without a doubt. If younger readers don't get it, that might not be such a tragedy after all. |

| I had never heard the real King Arthur tale. I enjoyed it tremendously! Sean Bean's narration of this tale is exquisite. His voice is perfect for books on tape. Such depth. You felt you were really there. I would recommend this to anyone! |

| Our mom just finished reading The Children's Homer to us. It was interesting. The story is about people and adventures. We liked the part when someone sings a song about Odysseus building the horse. It's the children's homer and we think you should learn more about the journey of Odysseus. You will also learn about Achilles and some of the battles of Troy. We like that Odysseus was most wanting to get home to his family.
