| These books are pleasing to look at, have heavy paper with beautiful illustrations. The cloth like hardcover and illustration are much prettier in person than in the photograph. |

| I somehow tragically managed to make my way to adulthood with never reading anything but the kiddie version of this book. When I found this book for super-cheap in the teachers' lounge book sale and I figured "hey, why not?" And thus I picked it up and immediately fell in love with the sheer Old-South charm that only Twain can deliver. Really, people, it is no wonder that this book is such a classic! | I was very disappointed in this volumn. I love the Harry Potter books and I haven't been a Christian since the through me out for being queer, like Dumbledore. I have read several books by the Hogwarts Professor, but this one is so drenched in anti-atheist-Christ-is-Everything sentiment that it was a struggle to get through. The author reminds me of the old saying "To a Hammer everything looks like a nail." Mr. Granger finds Christ and Christianity in every nook and cranny. | My sons 8 and 10 really enjoyed the bedtime reading of Greek myths from a collection by this same author - so we decided to try this "Classics" collection. They have really enjoyed most of the stories - and I enjoy exposing them to classics like Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, and Tom Sawyer. The stories are excerpted\simplified while maintaining key aspects of the language and key phrases "...would not a rose by any other name..."
