| I felt really sad seeing this book was among the bargain books in Borders Bookstore the other day. This is a great book, talking about almost everything on Charlotte's Web, and a lot about E.B. White the author.
The main part is the chindren's famous fiction, Charlotte's Web. The layout of the novel is the same as the one originally published. Prof Neumeyer's Notes are scattered in the big margin beside the text of Charlotte's Web. A very well researched book, it contains ... Read More: |

| What a dissapointment this book was, having bought it online, I was unable to flip through it's pages first. If you want to seriously study the various illustrators of Alice, don't bother with this book. First, none of the illustrations are captioned and you have to look up the credits in the back. Yet the foldout page with pictures of Alice from many illustrators is not credited at all, including a lovely image by Mabel Lucie Attwell (who's images do not appear any where else in the book.)Even the ... | I bought this book thinking how cool it would be for an 8-year-old nephew. But I am blown away by the number of ways a kid could get hurt or even killed by following the advice in this book. After a very brief and largely useless "safety first" warning, the author goes on to suggest such things as snow forts that use car hoods and other heavy objects as the roof -- with snow packed on top, no less. | I bought this book for 3 grandsons (10, 12, 14) and thought they'd enjoy it as much as they have enjoyed all the TinTin comic reads. They gave it a quick look, then went right back to reading their TinTin books--with very little interest in the content of this book that does discuss the writing and characters of each TinTin book.
