| This book was much smaller than I expected (I bought the hardcover edition). It's about the size of my hand. The story disappointed me too. It starts out fine, but you're left hanging at the end. I don't think I'd have bought it if I had read it in the store.

| We borrowed this book from the library and I found myself reading it to my son one day when he was upset and needed distracting. He was quickly drawn into the story. I had him participating in the story telling, something he doesn't commonly do. I would ask him I wonder who is next and from the small picture in the border he could figure out what animal was coming next. After the story was over we got out the globe and found the Ukraine and talk a bit about how its different there.

| While i can understand the usefulness of this book for parents of adopted children, when i was little i thought it was just AWFUL!
I always hated that book, and it made me terrified of getting lost and not being able to find my mother (not that i was ever in any danger of being out of her sight for 1 minute...). | This book was handed down to me from a neighbor when I was a child 35+ years ago. It was a favorite of mine and I saved it for many years. Now my 2 year old can recite it almost word for word and we read it almost every day. I'm finally breaking down and buying a new copy since well-loved is an understatement for the condition of ours. It's a lovely story about family and I hope my daughter will be reading it to her children someday. |

| In the hustle and bustle of bringing our new daughter home we hadn't realised we had been given this book for our 21 month old son. So, a few months later we found it and we've been reading it most every night since. As a result of reading this book my son now gives his sister a bottle of water in the afternoon (with just a little assistance), brushes her hair in the morning and is constantly telling people he's a big brother now. | Nancy Tillman's other book, "On the Night You Were Born" was my favorite to read to my daughter- this new one is just as wonderful. The illustrations are gorgeous andd the story is great to read. Definitely a high quality book. I recommend the set to any new parent. |

| Why do our snowmen look so droopy in the morning? They are out partying, sledding, making snowman angels and drinking cocoa! This is one of those books that I enjoy reading every time I read it. We put all of our holiday books on a special shelf and only bring them down after Thanksgiving, but this one stays out all year. The other awesome thing about this book is the hidden pictures! It has our kids picking it up over and over again. We LOVE the book at our house :)
