I bought this book for my son who will be 21 months when baby #2 is due. I love that there are no words so we can make up our own story at a level he can comprehend. It's wonderful to see the mommy breastfeeding and the daddy changing diapers, cooking, and dressing the baby. The amount of help the older sibling provides is great- showing his new baby how a rattle works, helping daddy cook, washing the baby with his mom, and reading to the baby. All in all, it's a perfect book for our family!

This book is okay, not as good at the other two lift the flap books. The flaps ripped off easily on this one. Not sure why.

I first found this book for my son at a library. He loved it. He had me read it over and over and over again. Finally it was time to give it back. I searched everywhere and finally found it on Amazon. It is a must have for your toddler's library.

Books : The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
I can't say more on the plot because it's quite obvious what the plot is just from illustrations of the novel. But on the "controversial" aspect of the novel involving the excessive use of the N word, people have to think of the time period that Twain is writing about and when the novel was published.
The novel takes place in Missouri (a slave border state) in the 1830s. We use the term African-American or black now. Before that it was Afro-Americans, coloreds, Negr--s. The list goes on and on. The ... Read More:

55.Snowy Day by: Ezra Jack Keats

So this is pretty much one of the best books ever written. The story is sweet and magical in the way of nature, and the pictures are just to die for with Keats' imaginative and surprisingly expressive design that still has not quite been beaten since. The book, story and pictures together, provides a warm, homey feeling that immediately shows a life. Keats deserved this Caldecot.

You know how young children will sometimes receive a super amazing fantastic gift and proceed to derive much more enjoyment from the cardboard box the gift came in? Well, according to Antoinette Portis' 2006 book Not a Box, young rabbits do that to. (So do cats, but that is neither here nor there.)

There are a lot of reasons I enjoy this book, the first of which is because of its design. The book looks like a box (even though it's not). The cover is made of brown-cardboard-feeling paper. The weight (11.5 ounces) ... Read More:

I purchased this book many years ago for my oldest daughter who is now 37. When I asked if my grandson had this book, she said no, but then began to recite verses she remembered from the book. She was so excited to know the book was being sent to my grandson. They enjoy reading together in the evenings. It's a fun book, easy to read. One your child will remember for years to come.
