| If this book were for me, I would gladly review it but I bought it for a friend who plans to take the appropriate tests for becoming a science teacher in high school. I have rated it at one star because I know very little about the book contents and the review will not go through unless I do a rating! Maybe someone needs to add "Don't know" as a category. |

This book showed me ways to use common items from a grocery store to demonstrate chemistry without spending a fortune or needing hard to find supplies. The book includes a section on safety, which is very important. It also describes why each experiment works the way it does. This book is best for the elementary or middle school science teacher. |

You can learn basic chemistry, chemistry as applied to medicine years ago, antique chemical terms, and have fun at the same time. One of very few books available to outline steps in setting up a home chemistry laboratory. It is dated but that only adds to it's charm. It contains a wealth of very practical information. |
