| I listened to this on audio CD and I really wanted to like it because it's a National Book Award finalist. (And it's about kittens. Who doesn't like kittens?) The story should have been simple and touching but it was over-done. I kept wanting it to be over and it was a chore to keep listening. I can't imagine how young children with short attention spans would react to it. I'm twenty-six and I couldn't take it. |

| My boys and I have been reading the Warriors series. They enjoyed getting this special edition that described many of the cats and gave a picture of them. They have even shared the book with friends who are also reading the series. |

| This book was handed down to me from a neighbor when I was a child 35+ years ago. It was a favorite of mine and I saved it for many years. Now my 2 year old can recite it almost word for word and we read it almost every day. I'm finally breaking down and buying a new copy since well-loved is an understatement for the condition of ours. It's a lovely story about family and I hope my daughter will be reading it to her children someday. |

| We purchase books from Scholastic frequently and were shocked when we read these to our children. We had a sense of trust that the books our children get from Scholastic, through their classroom, promote valuable ideas of diversity and cultural understanding. We feel that these books failed to meet that expectation.
