| This book was recommended in the Wall Street Journal as an excellent read-aloud. Because the WSJ reviews are generally on-point, I purchased it for a future grandchild, thinking it would be an enduring classic. I was sorely disappointed in the story-line and the quality of the writing. This book is merely okay, but nothing that I would recommend as a choice for someone special. There are much better children's books out there. |

| This is by far the best series for first graders. All five books are truly funny, sophisticated, and enjoyable for any age, yet the simple words are perfect for advanced early readers not yet ready for chapters. There is nothing else like it at this reading level. They should be in every first grade classroom. PLEASE PRINT MORE! |

| My son has recently began wanting more complicated books when we are reading and I found these while searching on Amazon. I purchased them and am very pleased.
The story line is simple but follows a natural, building progression that some of the other "early readers" lack. The short simple chapters have allowed me to introduce a more advanced format to my son and I feel has really enabled him to progress to more complicated story concepts. And he goes on to marvel about everything that you can read about, and everything you can learn through books. It's a beautiful and inspiring introduction into the importance of reading, a Seuss-must-have!!! |

| Some books have magic in them. You know the ones. They stay with you long after you've closed the cover. The rhythm of Ryland's words along with Howard's whimsical illustrations will have you "zinging pears" right along with Mr. Putter.
The Mr. Putter series is just about as good as children's writing gets. You can't go wrong with any one of them. But this one is our favorite. |

| I bought the book titled Ragweed for my granddaughter, who needed it for a summer reading project.She waited until the last minute to tell her mother, so I ordered it online at an unbelievable price and it came a few days later. The book was in great condition and everyone was happy.
