| love the 2 illustrator's distinct styles and the english/ japanese "stories" that are songs that start at opposite ends (Japanese start their books opposite the american way so it fits perfectly) and meet in the middle...really cute and well put culturally accurate. My students love it. |

| I originally got this for my 1 1/2 year old, who had no interest in it. I'd agree with the other comments that the format is bad for that age level. However, my 4 1/2 year old got really interested in it, and it was the prompt that really got her working on her letters on her own. She would sit and copy words from the book and look through the book to match up words and pictures. Because there are so few words, I think it was approachable to her. |

| I wish I knew why this book is so hard to find. All Eric Carle books are great, especially this one! No words in this book, just his beautiful pictures -- a song in paint!
When my daughter was only a couple of months old, she was interested in everything, but this book really held her attention. Get a hardback copy if you can find one -- paper just won't hold up to a baby's abuse. |

| I loved this book growing up and looked forward to giving it to my baby nephew. It definitely stands the test of time with its beautiful watercolor illustrations and unique formatting. However, this package was much smaller than I anticipated. The original book I read was about 11x14 but this book is less than half the size and therefore the stuffed caterpillar is also much smaller than expected. If size does not matter to you - it is a cute combination, but I miss the larger illustrations. |

| I loved this book growing up and looked forward to giving it to my baby nephew. It definitely stands the test of time with its beautiful watercolor illustrations and unique formatting. However, this package was much smaller than I anticipated. The original book I read was about 11x14 but this book is less than half the size and therefore the stuffed caterpillar is also much smaller than expected.
