| This book is not up to the usual level of cleverness you'd expect from Eric Carle. The split page format might b good for a intermediate reader but for a toddler the format of mixing and matching written animal sounds with pictures of animals is strange. |

| We checked this one out of the library after buying My Very First Book of Numbers. Unfortunately, it's not quite as good. First of all, although black, white, pink, and brown are represented, the color orange is missing - how can you skip one of the secondary colors?! Secondly, at least in the copy we saw, the fire engine is a muddy color somewhere in between red and brown (and definitely does not match the bright red color square). | I started out reading this with my son, he enjoyed it immensely, till Walter's cat knocked over the milk. From here on out the book took a turn for the worse. Walter having no milk improvised his baking with water, the pompous Duke and Duchess noticed his baked goods did not taste as good as always. These nut jobs, who are equivalent to Iranian Ayotollahs, call walter to their attention at once and about to exile the guy for not making their rolls to perfection. | This is cute book, but the pictures, in my opinion, are much to impressionist for a toddler to see. The adults enjoy the art and the
story was to wordy for a little one to stay interested. I would opt for a different book on Noah, but I will keep the book on my shelf! |

| This is a great idea for fans of the Very Hungry Caterpillar, but the stickers are not very reusable. I took the idea from a previous reviewer and laminated all of the stickers and attached velcro to them. My daughter loves this book and with the purchase of a second book and laminating and velcro-ing, they are now truly reusable and we bring it with us when we go out to eat. It keeps her busy. |

| Spanish is not my native language, (I think that the verb should be esta' not es, but I don't know how to make accented characters inside these forms.!) Anyway, ALL of Eric Carle's artwork is FANTASTIC, and in this case the text is also engaging. Used this successfully for our library storytime. |
