| This is a very unique Carle book. Your child can learn more about shapes and how to follow clues to lead to the next step. My daughter enjoyed reading the story and following the "clues" to the next shape to find the present at the end - a puppy.

| As an elementary school Spanish teacher this book is a lifesaver. While I found some of the translations slightly unusual it is a great way to use childrens literature to teach many subjects in Spanish. Since it is a favorite of all children and so well known the book is easily understood and can teach number, colors, days of the week, and the life cycle of a caterpillar. |

| We got this bok because we are trying to teach our 5 yr old some basic French. This book is great for colors and animals and the repetitive nature of the ryhmes make it easy for the child to learn. Since she knew and loved the english version, this was a great wya to learn some french.
I recomend this with Bonsoir Lune (Goodnight Moon), Devine Combien Je t' Aime (Guess How Much I Love You) and La Chenille Qui Fait Des Trous (The Very Hungry Caterpillar). These are books your child already ... Read More: |

| We have One Yellow Lion where the flaps open the opposite direction of the way you'd turn a page, and I thought this would be similar. But, the flaps open just as if you're turning a page. Granted, my son loves turning pages, so for him, this book is perfect. It was just different than what I expected. I'd recommend this book only to kids who can't sit still for more than a few seconds without wanting to turn the page of the book, as they get to turn twice as many in this so-called lift the flap book! |

| I was looking for a book of poetry, for my sons to use to do their copywork. Most were boring to them. This is not. They love it, and since they are doing their copywork without complaint, I love it too. |

| For those of you who love Eric Carle, his art and stories, this book is a must have. A "coffee table" book that allows you to enjoy and cherish the work of this very creative artist and author. Only thing better would be to have one of his original drawings! Reading Eric Carle with my sons when they were small was definitely one of our favorites things of the day. |

| I bought this book for each of two nieces with babies due this month.....they were delighted with the format, colors, and topics
