| My daughter and I love Amelia Bedelia. Ive been reading them since I was a kid and they are still great! They constantly have my daughter laughing out loud. The vocabulary is great because it introduces new words and also exhibits how some words can have more than one meaning. This of course is why Amelia is always so confused. All in all this is a very funny and entertaining read. I highly recommend these books. |

| I don't even know where to begin. These books are so horrible, and not just for the fact that the character of Junie B is a mean, bratty, ignorant, pathetic excuse of a kid. I fully realize that the grammatical errors and misspelled words are put in there on purpose for so-called humorous effect, but when you have 1st and 2nd graders reading this and you have to keep explaining that it is not correct to say "bestest" or "funnest" or "I runned to her house..." well, it gets highly annoying.

| ...but I wouldn't let him have it until I was done! Like my son, I am a big fan of the Gilda Joyce series. I read a lot of young adult fiction, and I have found the Gilda Joyce books to be not only highly entertaining but compelling in their exploration of 'tween experiences; how kids that age create such a vivid blend of imagination and reality to make sense of their emerging understanding of the adult world.

| Young readers will be hysterical with laughter over this wonderful adventure for our favorite young housekeeper, Amelia Bedelia -- who never seems to get directions quite right. Well, the truth is, Amelia does get them right, as long as you agree that making a jelly roll means rolling some jelly across the kitchen! And just imagine all the rest of the directions she has to follow with important company coming.
