| Dav Pilkey has written a simple and moralistic children's story that is as subtle and warm as a cup of hot chocolate on a cold Saturday morning. I have read this book over and over to all three of my children since the oldest was an only child and now at 10, 8, and 6 years old, they never tire of it nor do I. | I don't like books where the main character is supposed to be some kind of celebrity and this book reminded me of the reasons why. The constant celebrity name dropping is annoying and the whole going to school under a different identity is a obvious rip off of Hannah Montana (It's pretty sad that the author felt a need to rip off a Disney show's plot). Plus no actress who plays on a soap opera gets a major film role and is an "it girl." It would have been more realistic if she didn't get the big movie ... Read More: |

| Our mom just finished reading The Children's Homer to us. It was interesting. The story is about people and adventures. We liked the part when someone sings a song about Odysseus building the horse. It's the children's homer and we think you should learn more about the journey of Odysseus. You will also learn about Achilles and some of the battles of Troy. We like that Odysseus was most wanting to get home to his family.

| We are currently building a house so this book has been the perfect companion to this process. My little boy (two and a half) is able to make connections to the pictures in the book to what is going on in 'real life' with his house. | I love this book. Would have been The Best Thing back in the day, but alas, it was published the same year I graduated high school, and I never heard of it until now.
This book is full of wild and vibrant ideas, I read it and I checked it out last week from the library for my own mom.
