| Then this is a great book. My four year old loves it. He giggles when the children get so dirty they have to "stay in the bath for 3 days." He loves the idea of the kids hiding out in the back of the fire truck and getting to go to a real fire. Very cute story! |

| I must confess that I bought the book after taking it out in my local public library. It was the only preschool alphabet book that I could find with yoga in it (I'm a preschool yoga teacher). Y is for yoga master. I like the book on so many other levels too. The pictures are bright and colorful. The picture that they give for each letter give a whole scene and smaller item that also begin with the same letter. | Like so many adapted board books, this particular Corduroy book ends very abruptly to me--there's no plot at all, just a series of activities throughout the day, but that don't occur in any necessary order. The other Corduroy books (some of the holiday books, for example, Corduroy's Day, Corduroy Goes to the Doctor, and Corduroy's Party come to mind) begin at hte beginning of a day or an event, and end at the end, and that makes for a more comfortable read.

| As a new mother myself, I was so excited to find a book all about a mother trying to find a job to help support her new family. And of course, as I came to the end of the book, I was disappointed to find that Edwina decided that being at home was the only true job for her. BUT... I love reading this book to my little boy. The pictures are so beautiful and captivating and the rhymes make it such a fun read. Despite the final message - which isn't really that bad - I had to give this book 5 stars. |
