| It's a good book. It's actually very short.
It's about the class and everyone is talking about the new kid that Hubie is getting in his class. They think the new kid knocked people's heads off, crashes into people on purpose, kicks people, and gives them wedgies. On Thursday, when Hubie walks around the corner, he bumps into the new kid. | This book was very special to my brother and I as we grew up. We were attending an Elementry School in Knoxville Tn, (Brickey to be exact) and this was one of the books we both enjoyed very much. It was made even better when we discovered the school libary also had Goggles on tape as well, read by Rosie Greer,(which was very cool, even thinking about it now) with a light jazz keyboard soundtack that ran in the background that made the drama in the book even more fun. | I haven't read any other Trucktown books, so maybe I'm not understanding the whole relationship between this Big Rig character and the other trucks. That said, I don't see how the author could justify this story. It tells in its brief way of the various trucks performing different tasks, and of how the Big Rig comes barreling through with a menacing expression and smashes everything they do. | I love all the books in this series. They are funny and easy to read and each book is a story in itself. I am collecting them all and have read about 10 or so. This is a great book for grades 4-6. |
