| We bought two different editions of the old woman swallowing larger and larger animals, to be read at our five-year-old grandson's preschool. This one truly delighted all the children (and especially Mark) more. The illustrations of the reactions of the animals and of the woman growing progressively more massive are hilarious! | I read this book to my class of first graders and they really loved it. We read it during character ed and talked about how some of the characters did not use self-control. The illustrations are gorgeous. I was a little worried about how the kids would react to the main character being a cockroach, but they just thought it was funny. I bought it because it was a Pura Belpré Medal award winner and I'm trying to have more multicultural books in the classroom. |

| This is a cute rhyming book about Little Miss Spider, her mother (Bettie Beetle), and her friend Asparagus Beetle. The story is essentially one about how much more important people are than things. It is heartwarming and Holiday appropriate.

| There's a lot of writing and pictures in this book. My son examined the pictures and drawings closely, but isn't ready for so much reading quite yet at 6 years. So this book is good for a wide range of ages and interests. The pages are very crowded and colorful. |

| First of all, I would like to clarify that this is a review of the WHOLE chapter book series - not just this book. Second of all, I would like to clarify that, at age 15, I'm probably NOT the target audience for these books. However, as a die-hard Magic School Bus fan, I can honestly say that while I applaud Scholastic for wanting to introduce MSB to a new generation of kids, it certainly deserves better treatment than this.
