| When I first saw the cover of this book, I assumed that it would be a mediocre story with a cute gimmick, like most "gimmicky" books. This one is a rare exception. It has wonderful, varied vocabulary in rhyme form. The animation is phenomenal, and the story itself accurately describes what a bee does. It's not too long or drawn out, so it's perfect for three's and four's. The informational pages at the end offer more detailed facts.

| This adorable little book is chock full of everything a child will love - tactiles, rhymes, animals, bugs and counting! It isn't annoying in the slightest and it never gets old no matter how many kids have grabbed it off the shelf and plopped down in my lap. I have to admit that when I first read it, I was horrified - it was a nail-biter all the way to the end....where did they go? were they mauled by the duck? the fish? the frog or turtles?! Then, we get to the end *sigh* - all better.

| "The Giant Jam Sandwich" is great for any kid with a vivid imagination its laid out in such a way that it flows like honey or in the case of this book STRAWBERRY JAM! The basis of this book is the town of "Itching Down" has one serious dilemma, one day in flew 4 million wasps and of course they were wreaking havoc for everyone and everything so what do you do to try to get rid of these pesky wasps? why build a giant jam sandwich and trap them in it!

| My 8 mo-old son and I both LOVE the Squishy Turtle so I thought I'd try a similar book. While The Fuzzy Bee has great things to touch and feel (especially the beetle and dragonfly wings) and the same crunchy front cover the Squishy Turtle has, the Fuzzy Bee's rhymes aren't quite as catchy. And there are two less pages--as others have noted.
Good book, provides a change of pace from the Squishy Turtle (which my son has "read"/looked at/played with at least once a day since he was only a few weeks old). But ... Read More: |
