| This would be a book for select children and adults.
Some people might be put off by the illustrations with their wonderful, unruly watercolor quality and might think it to be sinister. I found it to be amusing when I thought of the matching of images and the song-like rhythmn of the story as making it all work together. Some of my favorite children will want us to read this to them many times. They will likely give it a "9" because they can begin to sing and dance with it. |

| My 8-year-old son read this to me for reading but it just as easily could have been a science book. It had a lot of good information at a fairly easy reading level with great photos of ants. Includes their anatomy, social system, homes, predators and much more. Recommended for grades K-3rd. A Level 2 Time for Kids book. |

| We have One Yellow Lion where the flaps open the opposite direction of the way you'd turn a page, and I thought this would be similar. But, the flaps open just as if you're turning a page. Granted, my son loves turning pages, so for him, this book is perfect. It was just different than what I expected. I'd recommend this book only to kids who can't sit still for more than a few seconds without wanting to turn the page of the book, as they get to turn twice as many in this so-called lift the flap book! |

| This is by far one of my favorite "children's" drawing books. I say children, but trust me, adults will find it just as useful and just as enchanting. The author, Doug DuBosque gives us step by step instructions on how to draw a wide range of insect critters. These drawings are in black and white (I find using a simple #2 pencil the best, along with some nice grade drawing paper) and are quite detailed. | What a beautiful story. A little girl finds and saves a tiny "worm" from a hungry Jay. She takes the caterpillar to her grandfather, who then helps her build a butterfly box. They decorate it together, and eventually, when the butterfly breaks out of its cocoon and becomes a beautiful butterfly, they let it go back into the wild, their garden.
