| Tim Green has written some compelling adult fiction. Trying his hand at mid-grade I expected interesting characters and a compelling storyline. He delivered on both. Troy, Tate, and Nathan are the main kids in the story with Tate stealing the shop. Troy has esp-like ability to predict defensive plays based on patterns of calls. He can do this for any level game. He's also a gifted quarterback who rides the bench of his team because the coach's son is the starter, and a bad one at that.

| For all those teens(like me) who like James Bond or who wants to see the movies but your parents won't allow you too, well here's your chance. It will have some occasional gorey or language, but overall I would say the age level for this is 11+. It may not be nearly as good or intense as the movies, but overall it is heartbeating at parts. | Oh, thank heavens for this series of books. Beverly Cleary seems to LIKE boys! It's such a nice change from all these "girls rule - boys are dumb" attitudes.
I like Henry's goal orientation. I like the way he relates to the other characters -- kind, honest, hopeful, straightforward, clever. I especially like how he treats the neighborhood pest, Ramona, a 4-year-old girl. | I somehow tragically managed to make my way to adulthood with never reading anything but the kiddie version of this book. When I found this book for super-cheap in the teachers' lounge book sale and I figured "hey, why not?" And thus I picked it up and immediately fell in love with the sheer Old-South charm that only Twain can deliver. Really, people, it is no wonder that this book is such a classic! | I am a teacher in 7th grade and have been teaching Touching Spirit Bear for several years to my classes. It is a story that they all have come to love and enjoy. The lessons and inspiration it provides is eye opening. I was excited to read the sequel since the 1st book doesn't reveal what happens to the two boys once they leave the island.
