| As ACCELERATION won the Edgar Award for Best Young Adult Mystery, you'd expect its strength to be plot. Instead, I submit that characterization carries the day in this book. The plot is a bit too convenient at times and takes too long to bring protagonist and antagonist together. In addition, once that happens, the climax is summarily (and rather conveniently) wrapped up, leaving a slight aftertaste of letdown.

| I highly recommend this book for parents and boys coming into the age of 11 or 12. It talks about how their bodies develop on their level.
Being a single Mom it was hard to understand some things that boys go thru and this book said it in a way I could understand and talk with my son. |

| I enjoyed this reversal (in more than one way) of Cinderella. Here its a boy--with big feet. (Made me wonder if Tolkein had read this somewhere along the way). He is mistreated by his stepmother and sister, but instead of a fairy godmother, gets a magic bull. (This really proclaims the irishness of the story to me, instantly bringing Cuchulain to mind).

| This book right here is very suspenseful for a Hardy Boy book, and that is exactly why I liked this book. You wanna know what brought my hair standing to my head? The part where the airplane was flying right over the ship. So if you like a really suspenseful book Hardy Boys style... this one's for you baby :D. |

| This book is a great and exciting book leaving you in suspense almost every chapter. It starts off boring and works it's way up to a great book.If you like mysterys than this is the series for you.My favorite part of the book is when chet an old friend of the Hardy boys got shot.So if you like classic mysterys this is the book for you. |

| This book was very good in teaching life lessons. I didn't buy it for younger children but for 11, 13, and 15 year olds. It is amazing how you just lay something around and they read it. Now if I had MADE them read it they would have considered it quite childish. It is such a simple lesson on how so many things will change us, yet all of us, even adults fall into the trap of, "Not me, I can watch a bad movie, look at bad pictures, listen to bad music and still walk away the same".
