| I love the Wiley & Grampa series by Kirk Scroggs. The Monster Fish Frenzy is great for the Christmas season. It's 3rd in the series. So, be sure to check out the rest. These books are a lot of fun for boys who might be picky about what they read. If your child loves the Captain Underpants books, then turn him on to these.

| I remember reading this book 5 years ago... and boy I loved this book. It was the quickest Hardy Boy book I have ever finished. Very suspenseful and a very exciting ending. If your a hardy boy fan... your not one without this book :) |

| Granted, this is only the third book in the series, however, I think it is the best thus far! The whole cast is here, Joe and Frank Hardy along with their parents Fenton and Laura (and new introduction of Aunt Gertrude), Friends: Chet, Callie, Iola, and Tony, not to mention regulars: Oscar Smuff and Chief Collig. In this story most characters play a very small role and the adventure mainly revolves around Joe, Frank, and Chet. It is fast-paced as well as entertaining. The events could even be considered ... | ISBN 0553156667 - I really like the anti-sexism message of Boys Against Girls. Although I find the writing average, I thought that message could lift the book to above average. The way the girls handle the situation is not something I'd recommend in the real world, for sixth graders, but the book isn't written for me. For the target audience, the message is an important one and that does, indeed, make the book just that little bit better.

| Spud, by John van de Ruit, although 352 pages, is a quick read. The book tells the tale of an average boy trying to find his way with girls, make it through tough classes, and earn a part in the school play. But that is where average ends. For example, Spud goes to his uncle's house for a vacation and he sees his dad get into a fist fight with his uncle over nothing, just as two little children would. | This is one of Henty's more readable books. All my boys enjoyed it. There is enough action to keep them focused and much less battle descripton than is usually in his books. There is also a volume of information about life in this ancient time which is such a fun way of learning history. I think it should be on the 'must read' list of any child's study of ancient Egypt. |

| I have to agree with another review the cover of this book just hooked me. This came into the library where I work (5/6 grade) and I immediately snagged it. Read it in one night and have not seen the book on our shelves since!!! It has been out constantly since we put it in the collection. Our kids like it (mainly the boys and our teachers love it!!). There's action and creepiness. The scene in the cave was so vivid I could feel the cold damp and the spongy feel of the body as our hero, Tom, groped his way around in the pitch black. ...
