| I bought this along with the "Dangerous Book for Boys" for my son, who is nine, for Christmas. He actually picks up this book more often than the "Dangerous Book". It is full of easy to read "things to do" and full of illustrations. My son and his sister especially like the animal traking section. They have taken this book with them on hikes in our back woods - hoping to find some unusual wild animals (like bears, wolves, etc). | We love Wiley and Grampa! In this book, the eggnog morphs into terrible things... a hammer, a skull... a giant math book! My 7 year old son just cracked up over that. He loves all of the Wiley and Grampa books. They are easy to read with great illustrations and terrific humor. |

| I bought this book back in 2005. I had read many Hardy Boys novels before and I bought it because I didn't have a copy. Originally, I was trying to find the blue spined one, but I found an "A FIGURE IN HIDING", but it had a different cover that interested me. So, I ordered it and just looking at it told me: DIFFERENT STORY.

Review after review by children show that most of them miss the point Paulsen was trying to make. One child even thought it was neat because it taught him who should be killed in battle first.
