| 'Pay It Forward' is one of my favorite novels. Author Catherine Ryan Hyde does an excellent job of establishing the locale and the desolation surrounding the city of Atascadero, and the characters react to their environment in a way that I would consider authentic.

| My sons are now 9 1/2, and discovered this book in their home library recently. I bought it three years ago, but they weren't too interested in it then. They LOVE the examples of what NOT to do/say, and it helps them remember the RIGHT thing to do/say. When we encounter a situation mentioned in the book, they recite the wrong and right approaches. | I bought this book on the strength of some of the reviews in Amazon.com. Having read the book (or at least about 40% of it until I decided to throw it away before my son saw it) I now suspect that most of the favorable reviews came from either parents who only skimmed the book or kids. The format is good and if you skim the book I can see why you might think it is well done and appropriate. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK IN DETAIL BEFORE DECIDING TO GIVE IT TO YOUR SON. | Admittedly, I'm not part of the target audience it was written for. But I just think that it could have used a little more character development and the plot could have been refined a little. Also, I felt that the ending was a little too abrupt.
But overall, it was not a bad read. There were some very interesting points in it. |

| This is wonderful! A Little House Book for even the youngest of readers! The complete books of the series may seem a little long for the little ones, this is great to get them familiar with the series. This book is kid sized, and is very well illustrated, the colors are vibrant, Laura would be proud, it is a very cute book! I will be buying more of these books in the future, the Farmer Boy Books are great for getting little boys interested in the Little House Series. A true Winner! |

| I had expected the second installment of The Hardy Boys to be not unlike the first. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the differences between the two books. Whereas the first book moved at a moderate pace, the second moved much quicker as there was a tremendous amount of action and even suspense. The Tower Treasure dealt mostly with a passive mystery which the Hardy Boys were following, picking up clues as they went. | I use this text as one of the "novels" that I teach in my British Literature high school class. Although the reading level is listed as ages 9-12, it works well at this level because some of the vocabulary is antiquated (smote, damsel, scabbard, jerkin, etc.) It is a very good translation of Le Morte D'arthur, and Roger Lancelyn Green has done a tremendous job of condensing the volumes of stories in that work into this selection.

| Scribner has created a beautiful book in this edition. The illustrations are on heavy glossy paper and are magnificent. There are very nice, free readings of this work online, and so I purchased the book for my young children to enjoy - to read while listening to the narrator. My only complaint is the book is abridged. This is not evident from the description. I think most editions of this work are abridged.
