| It's a little large, so it's great for lapsitters; there isn't too much in the way of vocabulary to muck things up; and the textures are varied.
But it's the sort of book that babies and toddlers will tire of quickly, and yes, the two flaps on the back *will* get torn off, so it has to be a supervised book. For more long-term use, I'd suggest the "That's Not My..." series. |

| A very short alphabet book, with each letter illustrated by an adjective-noun pair. The animals get a little weird at the end of the book (xylo xylophoning? Uglybird being ugly?), but that's only to be expected. |

| I can't get over how well this line of books goes with the lessons laid out in Flip Flop Spanish: Ages 3-5: Level 1. I used this book after the chapter on counting, and of course my kids already knew the word for Dog, so it was just a wonderful reinforcer. What a FUN way to review!
I'm already be recommending it to all my students, and plan to use it in my Spanish class for 3 and 4 year olds this week! |

| It's very short, only a few sentences per spread.
It's just not very *interesting* to me. Not as funny or catchy as most of her books. But if you're trying to read to a baby or young toddler, you need all the short books you can get, and this one will fit the bill. |

| Unfortunately, this has to be a supervised-only book because, like with many flap books, the flaps aren't that sturdy and *will* come off.
But yeah, it's funny and enjoyable, especially if you really get into yelling "I NEED MY BINKET!" every other page. |

| I got this book for my baby girl when she was about 9 months old. She loved it immediately. Both my husband and I are bilingual and would like our daughter to develop a familiarity with her native language early. This is a great translation. My little girl loved it. She would bring it to her father or I so that we'd read it to her. On a family trip, whenever she would get fussy, I would just recite the book from memory and she would laugh. I highly recommend it. | I found this cute book at my college bookstore and bought it for my husband for Valentines Day. I had no idea that Boynton had written any non-board books.
This book contains the classic Boynton wit and humor, along with the adorable illustrations of hippos, pigs, and dozens of other animals. It illustrates all different types of love. | It has what it offers. It has opposites and is a bilingual board book. I just don't like some words. The Spanish Language is a lot more complicated than English and many of the opposites are not the most appropriate.For example, it has "muy pesado" as the opposite of "livianito". That is way to complicated for a little one. Pesado and ligero it's much better. |

| Rather than reading this, I sing it to my son in order to make it sound more appealing, and he laughs and giggles when we get to the Ay, Carumba part. He also giggles at the end when the turkey dives into the water in his clothes. I read the English version, and I couldn't seem to get into a groove in reading it, so I only read my son this one. He loves it. I think this version is actually better than the English version! |
