| I just discovered this book and is a treasure!! For teachers in the classroom or to share with child who is interested in the natural world. Covers the entire ecosystem of the Pacific Coast forests, including the bugs. As a teacher I could use this book in grades 3-5 (maybe younger with help in reading) in a thematic unit for at least six weeks. Very rich in text, illustration and information. I highly recommend this book! |

| I am an adult & enjoyed this book very much. It included valuable information about mushrooms, poisonous and edible, as well as cultural information and anecdotes. The Morel: Mushrooms are everywhere if you look. |

| As kids' books go, this is a great little book with a nice large font and great photographs and pictures. There's a little bit about what a pumpkin is--a fruit or a vegetable--and then some history, and then the uses of a pumpkin for halloween. Each page has only about two or three sentences at most for young readers. At the end, there is also a great little glossary with pictures of items covered in the book. This would make a perfect little Halloween gift for the "pumpkins" in your life! |

If you are interested in trees as a beginner or hobbyist this book is great for helping to actually recognize the trees included and getting a little interesting information on each one. I also own the Eyewitness guide to herbs and have used both these books a lot, mostly for browsing through in my spare time. |
