| This is an absolutely fabulous ABC book! I checked it out of the library this spring for my 2.9 year old daughter, and she LOVED it, dubbing it the "gorgeous" book! She was so enamoured with it, that she wanted to make a version of it for a friend's 4th birthday, which we did with plain paper and colored pencils. Each page contains enough information to fill an entire lesson, yet the facts are easy to read and interesting enough to keep a child's attention. My daughter still talks about this book, and it has been months since we borrowed it from the library. I'm actually buying it for her birthday! |

It tells in detail how a tree continues to provide homes for animals and nourish the forest even after it dies, falls to the ground, decays, and becomes a part of the earth again. Such a slow process, how many of us ever think about that? I homeschooled my children so this was a good science subject for them; it helped them to understand and appreciate the "circle of life." |
