| I read this book to my students. But before I had read it myself, I shared it with my students. It was very emotional for me. (I have a cousin listed on the wall. His son was born about 4 months after he died. I could see my uncle walking his grandson there.) The book was a beautiful, moving tribute to all those who have given their lives in Vietnam. |

| This series is full of easy rhymes. It makes a great early reader, as well as a great read-aloud for a younger preschooler or toddler.
The sheep, in their jeep, have a run of rhyming problems, until they finally realize they're better off without it. Great fun, funny and cute. |

| Fever, 1793 was an accidental find. It is a totally intriguing book about the malaria epidemic in Philadelphia. It is historically accurate and the author cites her sources at the end of the book so they don't interfere with the adventure. This is a young girl's story of survival when the fever strikes her home. She deals with death, looters, and economic survival in a community ruled by fear. | This amazing book takes you on a journey to a fantasy world of animated excitement. It is an excellent read for young ones as well as adults. There's plenty of epic adventure, with a storyline of no dull moments. The detailed narration was so vivid; it was as if I was living through the characters experience all of the action in real life.
I loved the characters, the storyline and adventures. There were also funny scenes that any audience can appreciate. This was a very good book. |

But that's really just a lagniappe in a good book. Michael is, as you can guess, sitting on his mother's lap, and he keeps getting down and fetching more and more of his special things to be with him. | This book is nothing but the silliest tall tale ever, about a town where food "falls from the sky", but it works.
My nieces really sit still for this one, which is sometimes a bit of an accomplishment :) I will say that it goes on a bit long in parts, describing the way food falls from the sky, but it's not that big a deal to me. |
