| Our home schooling family has enjoyed Grace Conlin's reading of Esther Forbes' Johnny Tremain for at least two years now. I would recommend ripping the discs to mp3 files shortly after the original discs arrive lest you lose this wonderful investment (but no sharing or making copies!) This story is a regular favorite.

| My visit to the Dinosaurs is a book I would reccommend to any kid. This book is a very good book that has lots of pictures and teaches you a lot about dinosaurs. This book takes you through a dinosaur museum as you follow a young boy and his Father and sister. They give you cool facts that you might not have known about Dinosaurs. they show you all kinds of dinosaurs, small, tall, short and long. They tell you how you find Dinasours and other exciting facts. this book in my mind is deffenently one of my favorite children books. |

| I recently discovered Laurie Halse Anderson in the YA section of my library and am in the process of reading all her books. Catalyst is probably my least favorite so far, although it's not a bad read at all. Since other reviewers have outlined the plot details so well, I'll limit my comments to what I chiefly disliked about this story, the way the subject of bullying is handled. | I loved the Viola Swamp series as a child. My daughter was very into reading so I purchased her this book as part of her Christmas presents. She liked it just as much as I did when I was young. I'm glad they haven't tried to update the artwork. I've noticed recently that some of the great books I had as a child are being published with updated artwork and I think it's terrible. |

| Hound Dog Man by Fred Gipson is a great book. It shows a lot of emotion, courage, and bravery. The characters are well described, and it is an easy book to get into. I recommend this book to anyone between the ages of 9 to 19. It is full of adventure as the young boy goes on his first coon hunt with a man that is a professional hunter. He has a great time until there is a man riding one of his bad horses on which he breaks his leg in the middle of a storm. | If you are a complete beginner, as I was when I bought this book, be prepared to find yourself speaking and understanding before you are halfway through.
I think the reason this book is so effective is the amount of practice, exercises and examples, that it holds. Filling in the spaces is somehow very satisfying, because the lessons leave little doubt that you're doing it right.
