| My daughter started reading this book at age 12, and has had it for 2 years. She still loves to go back and read selections of love, hope, courage. Give your teenager something worth reading! :) |

| The story started off quite engagingly, though I thought I'd discovered the secret right away (chapter 4!). It turns out I'd only discovered a small secret and the big one was still to come! There's also an element of reality (yes, in a fantasy book!) that struck me. Not everyone is perfectly redeemed, people don't always do the smart thing (but they also aren't made extremely stupid just to advance the plot). | These are great CD's. My 4-year old daughter loves Frog and Toad. Someone gave her the book series for Christmas, which she now keeps in the car where we listen to Frog and Toad. The CD's don't have the beep to turn the pages (since they don't actually come with the books) but she's able to keep up. The voices are great. When I ordered this from Amazon it was missing 1 of the CD's but they were great with the exchange and replaced it immediatetly. |

| I knew relatively little going into this book...and what little I did know was from less than 100% accurate retellings such as in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen or references from cheesy shows or horror flicks (I think perhaps there was a reference in Scooby Doo somewhere?). | It's seldom that I root for the evildoer of a novel or movie, but Dostoyevsky definitely had me doing it with "Crime and Punishment". Early in the novel, impoverished student Raskolnikov murders two innocent older women in order to make a quick buck (and also for deeper reasons revealed later in the novel). | I bought this for my daughter and later I bought it for friends' children. I'll probably search for it for my grandchildren too. You can probably guess that I like it! Buying for kids is such fun because you get the wow factor, and then you get to see whether they really take to it by reading/playing with it. Kids don't fib about this stuff, do they! | This was the first Carl Hiaasen book I read, so perhaps starting with one of his books geared towards young people was an odd choice. I enjoyed this book immensely, and often laughed out loud while reading it.
