| After all the buzz, I finally decided to give this series a try. It is shallow, linear, simplistic and boring. Don't buy this book if you are looking for something along the lines of Tolkien, LeGuin, or even Rowling. You will be sadly disappointed. |

| I found this book on my father's shelf. He passed away some time ago, and i was going through the books he had. I was disgusted to see the kind of book this is, and that my father took it by the letter. I'm 21 years old now, and i can say with 100% certainty that if you want to raise healthy happy confident children, for their sake, don't follow what this book says. | This was our first Jim Weiss tape (CD) and is still, many years later, one of our favorites. As the unhappy critic below notes, these are tellings not readings, but Weiss makes that clear ("I imagine him sitting..."). Noah and the Arc is our favorite, but Abraham and the Idols is a good one for these times, and our girls loved both Ruth and Naomi and Esther. Highly, highly recommended. As is just about everything else Weiss does! |

| Highly entertaining and scripturally sound. My kids own 11 of these CDs and they listen to them over and over. They impress their Sunday School teachers with their knowledge of Bible stories, and I have these CDs to thank for that. |

| I read this book for the first time in 5th grade I think, and since then I've read it at least twice more. It's a great story about a boy who lives in Florida, with a brother who teases him and other cliche stuff that you wouldn't think makes a good book, but it does, because Bloor handles the subject wonderfully, intertwining all of the simple things that we all remember from our childhood into a great read that pulls you in and doesn't let go until you have finished it, swept up by the emotion that ... | I loved the Viola Swamp series as a child. My daughter was very into reading so I purchased her this book as part of her Christmas presents. She liked it just as much as I did when I was young. I'm glad they haven't tried to update the artwork. I've noticed recently that some of the great books I had as a child are being published with updated artwork and I think it's terrible. |
