| I first learned of Blue Balliett with the publication of her second book "The Wright Three". As a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, I was intrigued by the premise. I have not read the previous book, "Chasing Vermeer", which features Calder and Petra as amateur sleuths, but I definitely will after finishing this book. Balliett is a gifted storyteller, perhaps too intelligent for run-of-the-mill children's books, so it's a good thing that "The Wright Three" is anything but common.

| I've never written a review before, but after reading what many others wrote about this book I was inspired to throw in a few thoughts.
The point of this book, as well as all of the remake books (Wicked, Ugly Stepsisters, the True Story of the Big Bad Wolf, etc.) is to take a classic story and run with it in a new direction. | The seventh book in this series misses the mark. Action sequences are just referenced and female bickering and clothing takes up most of this book. I am sick of reading about these interchangable women.
I loved books one, two, and three but Jordan now seems to be afraid to do anything with his characters. Nynave,Elyane and other Aes Sedai treate Mat and any helpful man horribly. | Review: These books are my comfort books. In fact, all of the Tamora Pierce books from the Tortall series' are in that category. This is the first of Pierce's quartets ever published, starting with Alanna: The First Adventure. They all have a very strong female protagonist, who takes her destiny head-on and finds a way to train as a knight, even though such a thing is only for boys and men. | My 8 year old son actually went to bed early every night we read this book so that we could read 2 chapters. Sometimes kids books just don't hold the attention of parents, but I truly enjoyed sharing this story. I choked up and had to compose myself. What a great story. What amazing life lessons, I loved this book as much as my son did. A must read. |

| Yes, these are kids books, but my wife and my son, both older and more mature than the target audience, have already read (that is to say devoured, in Mark's case, finishing the 13-book series in 1 week) and recommended the books, and the movie (Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events (Widescreen Edition)) introducing the characters invites further curiosity about the books.
