| I picked this book up blind at the recommendation of my son. The brief description I'd been given didn't provide much insight into what I should expect. Having recently read Bless Me, Ultima by Anaya, I was expecting something along similar lines. What I found was both strikingly different and oddly similar.

| Wow! I can't believe the people who are giving this book one-star! I absolutely loved it! I found it through Twilight Moms in March, read it and couldn't wait to get to the store to buy City of Ashes. I think the characters are very evolved and have a lot of depth to them and the story is amazing.

| A fairly good book...most young adult novels I can't put down because the plot keeps moving...this one was a little dull for long periods and I didn't look forward to plowing through the slow parts when I did pick it up again. I think future books could be a lot more exciting. |

| This month I read the fantastic book Gossamer by Lois Lowry. It is about imaginary creatures called dreamgivers. Each dreamgiver has a house; there they gather happy memories from items and give humans and pets dreams. The main character in this story is named Littlest One. | I agree with other reviews that I don't think this book is as good as The Gruffalo...but I'm still giving it 5 stars because it is still a really great book. I don't think the story is as clever and the ending seems a little anti-climatic. But my 18 month old son LOVES this book...even more than The Gruffalo. This is one of the most often read books in our house. |
