This is the first graphic novel I can remember reading. I really liked it. I was drawn into the story and the characters. Also it is easier to read than I thought it would be. This is intended for Young Adults but this 25 almost 26 year old liked it too. This is book two of the series. I intend on finding the other full length books to read too. I think I will start with the Circle trilogy then read all of this series. I want to read the book form and graphic form. I highly recommend this book. :) ... Read More:

Books : James and the Giant Peach CD
This is the rare instance where I've read the book but haven't seen the movie. You know, some stories are better in book form and some are better in movie form. After reading James and the Giant Peach, I believe it works better as a movie. It has more action than it does ideas, and I enjoyed the illustrations much more than the actual text, unlike Alice In Wonderland or Winnie The Pooh.

Dahl's prose seems a bit clunky in my opinion, but at least it should be easy for kids to understand. It's ... Read More:

Our class read this book together this year. We loved it!!! It is about a 4th grader named Peter and his annoying brother named Fudge. Peter wins a turtle named Dribble from his friend Jimmy Fargo's birthday party. Fudge is always getting into trouble. Fudge's birthday is a disaster! First, someone wets on the floor and bites the grandma. One child throws up and falls asleep. And another child never stops crying. What will Peter do about his little brother??? You'll have to read this funny book and find out for ... Read More:

Maniac Magee is a wonderful book for any child to read. I read this bbok for me Children's Literature class and I could barely put it down. I found the development of the characters to be wonderful. Without a doubt I loved Amanda Beale, she was my favorite character and was definitely a spitfire. I would recommend that this book be used in intermediate grades. It is age appropriate for fifth grade and up.

I admit it! I love the Harry Potter books, but felt a bit silly reading something so much below my age level. But Brandon Mull's Fablehaven is just as exciting but isn't vocabulary deficient. Harry Potter is considered a 5-7 grade level book where Fablehaven is 7-9. It won't make you keep a dictionary at your side all the time, but will make you notice a new word here in there unlike the Harry Potter books. And it still does not have the unnecessary bone-breaking detail or sexual content.

In book one, the first chapter will ... Read More:

Man I love this book. But I always find it in the juvenile section. Have these people READ the stuff that happens? There is at least 1 death every 5 pages! Even if it's cute animals doing it, death is death. Good book though. Highly recommended. In my top 10 favorite list.

Books : The End (A Series of Unfortunate Events, Book 13)
I finished this late last night, having reached that point of no return (here meaning "that point where my need to know what happens at the end overwhelms my need for sleep") that all good mysteries, and most good books, will reach sometime before the last page.

Not all the mysteries are resolved, but the book ends, as most good books do, with the main characters not just alive, but fully realized and ready to live on to face more adventures, armed with their moral compasses and skills honed in the solitude of the arboretum and rested during the respite on ...
