| It was priced around $7 something at Walmart so I bought it. I read the Twilight not too long ago so I decided to read on.
Here is my take on this book and the series upto this 2nd book. Let me tell you all that this book is, indeed, for Young Adults (primarily teenage girls). | I'll give it 4 stars. The book, after all, is written for high school kids! I bought the book due to movie hype. I do love reading first time authors, I find they are often an authors best books. I do plan to buy the next book, and have hopes that the author expands.
Bottom line, I thought Stephanie Meyer caught the angst of high school romance, as if she graduated last June. I was transported back (was it really 40 years!), and was impressed with her ability to stir the memory of high school crushes. ... Read More: |

| I thoroughly enjoyed this book along with all of the other's in this series. Was it my favorite, no, that would be Twilight. But it still was a great book that was hard to put down. A lot of readers on here claim it's too far fetched, a vampire pregnancy and Bella is no longer Bella when she turns. But remember everybody, THIS IS FICTION! That is what makes it believable. | I read the first two books, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. They were full of emotion, action, and wonderful writing. But Brisingr was a sad, depressed edition to the series. Most of it was very unneccessary and it was very boring. The only thing that kept me hooked on it was Roran's part of the story. For me, the book seemed a repeat of the last two. Paolini could have done much better, and that's what being a writer is all about, being able to suck the reader into the story, and keep them there until the last page. Brisingr didn't ... | This was a wonderful trilogy; one that I will always treasure for its beautiful storytelling and memorable characters. It was so easy to get lost in the magical world created by Funke (or was it Fenoglio? ;-P ). The characters effortlessly worked their way into your heart. I loved the conclusion to the trilogy, and I couldn't have wished for a more perfect ending! |

| I read this book to both my 6 & 8 year old each night, a few chapters at a time. They always asked for it the next night and helped me read it to them. It kept them interested and I thought it was a good story. They now want to see the movie when it comes out. This will give us a good chance to discuss the differences between what is read (author's point of view) and the translation to movie format (director's pov). |

| I really didn't know what I was getting into when I bought this book based solely on the buzz I was hearing about it. I had heard it was set in WWII Germany and the narrator was Death. With that very small introduction, I dove into the book.
Writing Style For the most part, I really enjoyed the writing style. The descriptions were vivid and gripping. The language was fluid and natural while also being engrossing and emotional.
