| My daughter (12 months old) loves this book. The pictures are adorable and illustrate the simple concepts (up/down, heavy/light) well and in a way that supports and encourages further explanation of the concepts during reading (i.e., describing the differences between the pairs of pictures helps explain the differences between the pairs of concepts). |

| In the spring my niece bought a hermit crab for her three children (no pets allowed where they live). With it she bought a larger shell for the future. It is hand painted in red, white, and blue. Since then the hermit crab moved out of his original house into his patriotic one. She also bought this book to go with the actual living, breathing hermit crab.

| We recently bought this book for our 15-month old nature fanatic, and he loves the illustrations as much as we do! It is so delightful to finally find a series that has artful, accurate illustrations accompanied by text that is simple enough to hold our little one's interest. I plan to buy more books from this series and certainly recommend this book to anyone that loves birds, art, and/or nature. |

| I loved this book. This book is great for many reasons, but my favorite is the conflicts. It is about four owls, Soren, Twilight, Digger, and Gilfy. They are flying to the Great Tree. On their way, they run into a lot of problems. For example, they see a dead owl, so they go and bury it. Unfortunately, it was a bobcat's meal and he is still hungry. | At first, I thought, how lame--a book with little ducks going in the water and that's it. There's really no plot here. But, my son kept wanting to read it during bath time. So, each time a duck goes in the water in the book, we make big splashes in the tub. This makes my son laugh and laugh. With a little creativity in delivering the content of the book, we were able to make it a lot of fun. I agree that the blow up duck that comes with it is useless, so I just threw it away. |
