| I read to my children every night, religiously. This is one of a very few books that we are happy to pick up and re-read. They enjoyed it when they were 3 and 5, and they still enjoy it when they're now 7 and 9.
As an added bonus for fathers, the theme is about little things we might share with our children that leave a lifelong impression. My dream is that I am creating one or more lasting legacies with my children. |

| My 18-month old carries this book around with him during the day. The photos keep him busy and he loves turning the pages.
There really isn't a story to the book. Just animal noises. Fun to read and I've heard him practicing the noises when he looks at the book himself. Cute book. I'm glad I bought it. |

| I'll let you read other reviews to decide if you want to try the book. This review is specifically in reference to the audio book, which is read by actor Chad Lowe. My daughters and I listen to audio books daily, and we've listened to some truly gifted readers. The trouble with Hoot is that Chad Lowe reads with the skill that I expect from a non-professional. He brings absolutely nothing extra to the performance of the book. Very disappointing. |

| We got this book for our 3 year old, who is on an owl kick, based on Amazon reviews. It's been his (and our) favorite book for months. Really sweetly written (great concept)and the illustrations are beautifully simple. We're going to have to get the Pea one for Christmas, I think. |
