| At the risk of sounding needlessly lewd, we declined to stock this title in the bookshop because the goose on the cover looks less like a goose and more like part of the bear's anatomy, lending itself to a very vulgar interpretation. It probably should have been better thought out. |

| I used this book for a story time with a rooster theme. It is a counting book that teaches the concept of addition and subtraction. Rooster sets off to see the world. Along the way he meets two cats, three frogs, four turtles, and five fish. Since Rooster has made no plans for food or shelter, as night falls his traveling companions go home. The book is illustrated with Carle's usual large, gorgeous collages. It worked very well with a group of forty preschoolers. |

| I understand that saving an eagle is important, I don't mind that, the eagle is our national symbole after all. But I believe the woman who wrote this put too much emphasize on saving the earth.
I'm a Christian, I believe we should take care of the Earth, but at the same time we should care for people more. I saw this as a Earth worshipping book, I wouldn't want my child reading this. |

| I purchased this book close to a year ago for my son's 8th birthday. He loved it, and he continues to regularly read the book. Also, he has developed an interest in birds and birdwatching. This was a great purchase and I recommend it. Now I am shopping for his 9th birthday and am looking for aome Audubon prints for him.

| I am reading this entire series with my six year old son. He read the Absent Author in school and talked about it so much at home that we started buying all of the books. The reading level is above his abilities (1st grade), but it makes for a quick read together. Perfect length for reading a couple of chapters together before bed at night. | I had no idea when I picked this up for my 2 year old that it was a vegetarian themed Thanksgiving book. Well, it's not marketed as that, but it certainly fits the bill. After reading another turkey book too many times, I just picked it up because a turkey was front and center, and I was hoping it would be a nice distraction. As vegetarians, we think it's fantastic, and we also love that the book can be sung to the tune of "O My Darling, Clementine!" |

| We start the day with Goodly, Lovely, Angel Neatly, and Perfect singing "Sunrise on the Iceberg." Of course Tacky is sleeping in. He wakes up with his trade mark "What's Happening?" and slaps everybody on the back.
