| A Log's Life was a perfect addition to my 3rd grade science unit. We were studying the life cycles of plants and animals and how they provide shelter and food for animals and plants throughout the process. It was just right for my students to comprehend. The pictures are wonderfully done!I highly recommend this book to be a part of a classroom science library. |

| Considering this is part of the "My Body Science" series that also brings us "The Gas We Pass" and "Everyone Poops," you can expect more of the same gross-out humor and scatalogical references. ("Maybe a scab is...the poop of a sore!")
But if you can get past the poop talk, this book does a great job of giving a scientific insight into a topic that naturally fascinates kids. |

| I got this book for my 5-year old. It's a little advanced for her, but she loves it and it getting an intro into some biology concepts, including cell structure and fetal development. Also, it gives her an introduction to some biology words like DNA, protein, cytoplasm, and cell membrane. Includes four pages with diagrams of different types of cells (skin, hair, pigment, gland, muscle, nerve, bone, blood, etc). | The Desert story is beautifully depicted, wonderfully written, enjoyed and gives a vivid insight into life stories and cultures.
I have purchased and read many of "Byrd Baylor's" books. Read them to grandchildren and also read them to very elderly frail folk in nursing home care and been very much enjoyed by all. |
