| I wasn't sure what to expect from this book but I'm pleased with it. The subject matter hasn't totally clicked for my young daughter but it's just a matter of time before we read this book and she truly starts to catch on. I recommend the book, my 2 year old enjoys this one. |

| As others have said, this book is quite good, with beautiful collages as illustrations. The first half of the book is simple, following Earth's great geologic ages and the major lifeforms therein. The second half is about the process of biological evolution itself, and much wordier (you may have to slow down and explain a bit for the kids here -- evolution is, after all, a complex process).

| What looks like one of the few good non-supertitious explanations available to young readers turns out to be a gaia-infused sloppy mish-mash of facts and (unfortunately) somewhat uncritical folklore written by authors probably lost somewhere between science and crystal-gazing.
Still has some value if your intention is to read this to your kids while filtering fact from fiction. The graphics are probably useful for children. |

| This is a very good introduction to the brain and its functions. The book has numerous high quality photos of the brain, CT/MRI,spinal cord/nerves and more. Neuroscience is made fun for both kids and adults! |

| We check out books free at the library and then any favorites from that we buy at Amazon. I worried the large animal names used might be confusing for my 2 year old but nope, she just loved the whole book and now she is learning to better recognize certain animal species because the book while playing on a traditional nursery rhyme that uses general terms like "duck" or "frog" THIS book uses specific names within each species. | this series is great, and my daughter absolutely loves when i read them. this book is probably the best and most descriptive evolution book geared towards kids! highly recommend for any parent who wants to teach their kids about the origin of the earth and the evolution of all live on it! |

| This book was on my daughter's summer reading list for going into 1st grade. We read it as soon as we got it and she loves it. We have read it several times. I would recommend this to all children, especially ones who love ladybugs. |

| My third graders fight over this book! I am going to buy more copies so that more can share it at one time! The combination of excellent poetry set in eye grabbing fonts and shapes, with the camouflaged photographs intrigues and fascinates. What a great way to introduce and involve students in poetry. |

| My 9 year old daughter read this book to me in about 4 days, at her own pace and enjoyed it much. It contains a consice but very informative review about Charles Darwin as a person while considering the influence of his time and environment on how he got to develop his theory. It contains just enough information about his theory of evolution to be meaningful and engaging for a 9 to 13 year old child without becoming boring or too complex. I highly recommend it. |

| My children (4, 18 months) love these books and so do I. The pictures are beautiful and there is a glossary of terms with pictures. The story starts when the animal is born and shows the whole life cycle. The sentences are short, but informative which makes it a quick bedtime read. There are also more detailed bubbles for when the kids are a bit older. |
