| This book has wonderfully bold, creatively designed illustrations which makes it enjoyable to flip through. But the plodding text makes it impossible to read! Cumulative verse can be very fun and effective, but in this book the author made no attempt to create a lyrical "chorus" that kids would be able to chime in on when being read to, or even that adults would be able to read aloud pleasantly. | I gave this one star because the Author took this 100% seriously. I, on the other hand, don't take anything on this anti-evolutionary propaganda seriously. In fact, I read these books as comedy and I laughed myself silly page after page.
This book is only about 95 pages long; the other 95 pages are the appendix. You'd think with an appendix that long the book would have been a lot longer. I must quote another reviewer at this juncture: "I'm sure glad this non-historian wrote this book"... ... Read More: |

| This whole series of Backyard Books are an absolute must for every early childhood classroom. The information is written in such a respectful, child-friendly form that the children ask for the books to be re.read. It is in a narrative form but filled with factual information The illustrations are exquisite! I have three of the series and my Kindergarten children are asking for the others! ! ! |

| Tree of Life is an excellent resource book on nature. Children are able to view the table of contents and easily find information. The illustrations are drawn in detail giving a realistic appearance. I think this book would come in very helpful when an early grade child is doing a research report. |

| The only reason why I did not give this book (and the others in this
wonderful series) a complete 5 stars is because the proof reading was not quite up to snuff. In this book I found at least one misspelled word, and a couple of lines repeated. However, the books in this series are packed full of information, have wonderful pictures, & easy-to-read text while still being a genuinely informative biography. And all of this for only 4.99. | I first came across the book when a family came into my office with it. The kids were around 5 years old and loved the book. The pop-ups, pull-tabs, and flip-ups looked so fun that I went on a search for the book. The book store in town carries the book for $20 and Amazon carries it for nearly half the price. | This book gives a simplified explanations for many topics in science. It covers biology, chemistry, and physics. It also includes detailed drawings for many topics. The explanations are simple enough that many 8th graders are able to understand them. As a science teacher I love this book. I makes rewording topics for students to understand a breeze.
