It also struck a very serious chord with me as it deals with the very normal "coming of age" concept and Grogan's relationship with his parents. "The First Billion is the Hardest" suggests a discussion of making money, but it doesn't build upon this theme at all. If you're looking for a detailed biography of Pickens' oil career, this is your book. All but one chapter are dedicated to the high-risk career T. | Book felt very choppy...not a good flow and nothing of great substance. It's an entertaining read if you don't like the Cowboys (I'm an Eagles' fan...I know, it's sad). So, I would just stick with Jeff's articles on ESPN. They are more concise and hard hitting. |

| I had the great pleasure of hearing WW Hayes speak at my high school some 40 years ago. I expected to be dazzled with football talk, but to my surprise, Woody only mentioned football as an afterthought, he was spellbinding in describing the wonders and advantages of a college degree.

| I loved the content of the book; however the optical character recognition (OCR) conversion of this book is poor. For example, "100,000 troops" is converted to "100, troops". Additionally, the "rn" letter combination sometimes converted to "m" leading to issues with names.
I hope that the publisher revises the scan and issues a new revision. The book otherwise, I couldn't put down. Doris writes magically and the book is wonderful. The weight reduction using the Kindle outweighed the issue with the ... Read More: |

| Stunningly beautiful, thought-provoking, and engaging photographs.
The range of photos shows such emotion. The personal moments give you pause. You will find yourself lost in contemplation. I don't remember seeing such a powerful collection of photographs of a person since JFK.
